Coastline Housing is a charitable social landlord serving Cornwall
Winners in the Third Sector category at the Cornwall Business Awards and one of the fastest growing landlords in the country, we are proud to be a key provider of housing and support in Cornwall.
That includes social housing for thousands of people across Cornwall, plus shared ownership and rent to buy homes to help people get a home of their own.
Our Extra Care scheme in Redruth houses many older people, and our services for anyone experiencing homelessness help hundreds each year who are rough sleeping.
The Coastline Plan
Our ambition is to end the housing crisis in Cornwall. That is why Coastline exists.
The housing crisis impacts in many profound and unfair ways, perhaps most significantly by trapping people in poverty.
Building more social homes, and investing in the quality of the ones that we have, can help people escape the constraints of poverty, reduce and prevent hardship, and improve health and wellbeing. It can give people somewhere to live that is safe, warm and secure, and somewhere they can be proud of.

Our mission statement and values
In our Coastline Plan we set out our aims across the three strands of our mission statement:
- great homes
- great services
- great people
Our values underpin everything that we do, from how we work with customers and each other on a day to day basis to how we make long term strategic decisions:
- put our customers first - customer focused
- be open, honest and accountable - trustworthy
- strive to be the best - learning
- value each other - caring
Solving the housing crisis
Only 1 in 10 of homes in Cornwall is an affordable home.
Private rents and house prices are unaffordable to most, trapping families in poverty.
The challenge we face is enormous, but Coastline exists to help solve this crisis. To provide housing for those in need, to help improve the neighbourhoods that people live in, and to provide services that improve the quality of our customers’ lives.
We're growing fast
In 2024 Coastline was named the fourth fastest growing association in terms of building new affordable properties.
This is the seventh year in a row that Coastline appeared in the top 10 fastest growing housing associations list published by Inside Housing. Across the 12 months we built 191 new affordable homes.
We have committed, with our partners, to building no less than 1,200 new affordable homes between 2021 and 2025 to help families and individuals struggling with housing.
More than just a landlord
Our footprint extends beyond our homes and into local communities.
We know we have a role to play in tackling stigma, deprivation and enabling life-enhancing opportunities for customers, ultimately improving quality of life, health and wellbeing.
We support some of the most vulnerable people in Cornwall. Our purpose-built facility for Coastline’s Homeless Service in Pool transforms lives by providing everything they need on one site, including overnight crisis accommodation, a doctors’ surgery, and a community hub with space for partner organisations.
Coastline also offers work placements, employability programmes, a volunteer programme, neighbourhood and environment improvement projects, and much more. We work collaboratively with other organisations to this end including Fedcap and the local Job Centres.
PlaceShapers
We’re a member of PlaceShapers, a national network of place-based housing organisations.
We put place-shaping at the heart of decision-making, helping to create communities where people thrive.
We connect, communicate and collaborate for greater influence.
