“The Level 3 Disability Confident Leader status will allow us to be recognised for the work we do. It enables us to be more proactive in attracting and supporting different candidates and volunteers coming into Coastline.”
Coastline has been validated as a Disability Confident Leader by Fedcap Employment.
Over the last year we have been working in partnership with Fedcap to provide voluntary work experience for participants on the Intensive Personalised Employment Support (IPES) scheme, designed to support people with disabilities into paid work.
Hannah Tripp, Head of People and Culture at Coastline Housing, said: “The interaction with Fedcap Employment is positive and engaging. They are passionate about what they do, and that reflects onto us, and makes us passionate to be involved as well.
“The Level 3 Disability Confident Leader status will allow us to be recognised for the work we do. It enables us to be more proactive in attracting and supporting different candidates and volunteers coming into Coastline.”
To date, Coastline has supported four IPES customers, with plans in place to take on a further three customers into volunteer and work experience opportunities.
Tracey Oldham Durparq, Fedcap Employment’s Community Provisions Coordinator for the IPES scheme, said: “What makes this such a successful partnership is Coastline take the time to listen to the participants’ aspirations and seek to place them within suitable work experience or volunteering opportunities within Coastline.
“This personalised approach enables the IPES participants to explore their areas of interest, demonstrate their skills, and grow in confidence. The Coastline approach echoes Fedcap Employment’s ambition for participants and gives the wrap-around support they need.”
As a result of the support Coastline Housing has given our customers, Fedcap Employment supported the housing association on its journey from being a Disability Confident Employer to gain Leader status.
