Coastline Housing has earned a place on a top ten list of the fastest growing housing associations in the country.
The Cornish housing charity has appeared sixth in the chart that details how many new homes housing associations nationwide built as a percentage of their current stock last year.
Coastline delivered 209 new homes in Cornwall during 2025/26, meaning the landlord grew by 3.9% and now has a total of 5,387 homes in ownership or management.
The list has been put together by Inside Housing magazine, as part of a sector-wide survey of development carried out by housing associations within the UK last year, to see where the most new affordable homes are being delivered.
James Cox, Assistant Director of Development and Sales at Coastline, said: “We’re very proud to be listed as one of the fastest growing housing associations in the country. This is great news for people in Cornwall as we know that more affordable homes of all sizes and types are still desperately needed by so many individuals and families. The fact that we have been able to bring forward so many new developments across the county over the past year and that we will be delivering even more homes moving forwards is good news for everyone.”
Coastline delivered new homes in towns and villages across Cornwall over the past year, from Penzance to Dobwalls and Bodmin to Coverack. The landlord also started on site with 276 more homes that are currently coming out of the ground.
The housing charity is no stranger to appearing on Inside Housing’s list of ‘biggest builders’. In the past nine years, they have earned a place on the list eight times.
Allister Young, Chief Executive, adds: “This past year has not been without its challenges and frustrations for our development programme – including bad weather hitting Cornwall this winter, ongoing delays with streams of government funding for new homes and price hikes or shortages in construction materials.”
“Our Development Team colleagues have worked tirelessly through all these challenges and we’re very proud of them. Ultimately, homes change lives. Good housing underpins health, wellbeing, employment and education, so it’s crucial that we are playing our part to bring more housing to people who need it in Cornwall and we will continue to work very hard to do so over the coming years.”
Coastline Housing has set out ambitions to build 250 to 300 new affordable homes each year over the next four years as part of its ambitious Coastline Plan covering 2025-2030.
