Coastlineās Homeless Service clients were recently provided with an amazing experience by WetWheels Foundation South West based in Falmouth.
Five excited clients were supported by staff on a four-hour sunshine filled fishing trip. They fished over wrecks and reefs seven miles offshore and on the trip reached an exciting 30 knots at times. Catching big native fish that were returned to the sea brought some very happy faces and a greater sense of wellbeing.
WetWheels Foundation operates a boat specially built in 2021 to provide meaningful experiences for any disabled person including veterans, and for any individuals with mental health challenges and complex needs. The skipper, Dave Young, alongside his team kindly agreed to cover half the cost for each of our Homeless Service clients who used their own funding streams to provide the rest.
The feedback from our clients was overwhelmingly positive with them saying they felt so much better for this enriching trip out. The day also strengthened connections between Coastline and WetWheels Foundation, both charities here to support the wider community.
