During the safety check
Blue Flame will inspect any gas fittings we’ve installed, your gas cooker and any gas appliances you own that are fitted to the chimney. They will also check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
After the service, you’ll receive a certificate called a Landlord’s Gas Safety Record that confirms the results of the check.
If a gas appliance fails the safety check
The engineer will repair or replace the faulty appliance if it belongs to us. We will update your Landlord’s Gas Safety Record with details of any repairs we’ve done.
If one of your own appliances or fittings is faulty, the engineer will disconnect it and ask you to get help from a qualified Gas Safe Registered installer. This is because it’s an offence for you to use a faulty appliance and for us to allow you to do so.
Letting us in
Your tenancy agreement says you must let us or our contractors into your home for these checks. If you keep refusing entry, we will apply to the court for an injunction so we can enter your home to inspect any gas appliances and keep you safe.
If your gas is capped off
If your supply is capped and you’d like to start using gas, contact us in any of the usual ways.
We will arrange a service and the uncapping of your meter.
