Wages and pension
We are an accredited Living Wage Employer which means we commit to paying a real living wage based on living costs rather than the standard minimum wage.
Coastline has also secured a first for Cornwall and for the housing sector with the introduction of a Living Pension for colleagues. This means that Coastline will contribute a minimum of £1,480 per year into each colleague’s pension pot, regardless of what they put in. If they put in nothing, we will still put in £1,480. If they put in more than that, we will match it, up to a maximum of 8.3% of their salary.
Annual leave
Coastline Housing employees are entitled to at least 25 days holiday per year (depending on grade), plus eight bank holidays.
Coastline's repairs service employees are entitled to at least 23 days holiday per year (depending on grade), plus eight bank holidays. This increases to 28 days holiday after five years' service.
We also offer a holiday trading scheme where, subject to approval, colleagues can buy and sell leave to fit their individual needs across the course of a year.
Healthcare
Coastline believes in supporting the health and wellbeing of employees and after one month of employment, employees are enrolled in a healthcare cash back scheme.
This scheme allows employees to claim for costs relating to dental treatment, eye treatment, a full health screen, physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropody, podiatry, chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathy and diagnostic consultation, tests and scans.
Employee wellbeing
Coastline employees can access a 24 hour Employee Assistance Programme, which provides a confidential counselling service (both telephone and face-to-face), health advice and legal advice.
On an annual basis we offer free flu vaccinations and health checks.
Our lifestyle hub has a full range of wellbeing help and advice, including meditation videos, exercise tips and delicious recipes.
We also offer free membership and access to the Thrive mental health and wellbeing app.
Agile working
Where job roles allow, Coastline offers an agile working approach to support employees to achieve a good balance between work and home commitments.
The needs of the business must still be met but we recognise that for many work is something you do and not a place where you go. We focus on attitude and outputs rather than how long you’re sat in the office for.
Award schemes
Our Coastline Stars award scheme allows colleagues to nominate each other for doing something above and beyond their job role. We encourage positive feedback and the importance of recognition. You could even bag yourself a voucher as a reward!
We give Long Service Awards to thank colleagues for their dedication to Coastline, with gifts awarded for long service at 10, 20, 30 and 40 years. A little celebration is held for those eligible each year and of course, we make sure there is food!
Career development
We provide fantastic training opportunities, often sponsoring employees to achieve professional qualifications relating to their job role. In addition, there are opportunities to shadow other colleagues to gain an insight into other roles within the group.
We provide sponsorship of up to two subscriptions to professional institutes annually.
